U.S. stocks finished the last trading day of July with a whimper after a month of strong gains.
 
For the week, the NYSE gained .49%, while the NASDAQ lost .65%.

NLX NASDAQ Turns Bullish

The NLX NASDAQ has turned Bullish after being Bearish since May 4, 2010.

U.S. stocks soared on news that European banks largely passed a round of government stress tests and switched their focus back to positive U.S. corporate earnings results.

For the week, the NYSE rallied 3.81%, while the NASDAQ jumped 4.15%.

U.S. stocks plunged on Friday as a double dose of discouraging earnings reports and concerns about the pace of the economic recovery wiped out major market gains for the week.

For the week, the NYSE slipped 1.46%, while the NASDAQ sank .79%.

U.S. stocks finished Tuesday's session sharply higher posting their sixth straight session of gains on upbeat earnings.

The Dow is now within 65 points of where it began the year.

Bullish Dow

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose Friday for its fourth-straight gain making it the longest winning streak since late April.

It is also the second-straight positive week and the best two-week performance on a percentage basis since November.
